Preeti Lodaya founded Star Kids Learning in 2009. At first, it consisted of only a handful of students; today, however, it has grown into a large family. She has helped numerous children become excellent readers and writers through using Jolly Phonics methodology.

Engage students with content that feels like play and teaching materials aligned to grade-level standards.

Phonics & Grammar Workshops

Phonics is a method for teaching English speakers the sounds that distinguish one word from the next and how these sounds combine to form words. Since written language can be likened to a code, understanding phonics helps children decipher sounds they encounter while reading books.

At our school, we provide an engaging phonics program with fun and interactive lessons using research-based phonics methods, starting with CVC words before progressing to long vowels, digraphs, and beyond. The program comprises 145 lessons covering 235 red words (sight words) as well as structured syllabication studies to master multisyllabic words.

Preeti Lodaya has been teaching for 18 years and is passionate about helping her students excel at English language skills. As an expert in Jolly phonics methodology, she has trained many teachers on its use.

Star Kids English Language Enrichment Center provides enrichment for English language learning to children of all ages, with lessons covering phonics, grammar, reading, writing, and speaking skills for various competitions and exams such as Spell Bee and Spell Quest Maars Olympiad. We train our students for these competitions and exams, and many have gone on to win medals in competitions or reach international levels through these trials.

Reading & Writing Workshops

Star Kids Learning offers reading & writing workshops for children of all ages to make reading, grammar, and comprehension skills fun and accessible for them. Their interactive games offer untimed multisensory fun that promotes independent learners with ease – making learning enjoyable! Its simple use makes education enjoyable for kids of all ages!

The workshop model of teaching reading and writing can be an excellent way to encourage children’s comprehension abilities by offering various texts and experiences that support reading comprehension development. While traditional classrooms may separate these skills for separate lessons, the workshop approach combines them in one block of time for maximum effectiveness.

Preeti Lodaya, a certified Early Childhood Education teacher, leads this reading and writing workshop. For 18 years, she has worked in education using Jolly Phonics methodology to instruct her students. This has proven an extremely successful approach in creating exceptional readers and writers among them.

Teachers lead reading workshops by conducting mini-lessons and conferences with small groups of students. In addition, book clubs and literature circles allow them to select self-selected books from bookstores; students are then encouraged to interact with these texts while taking notes about them.

Contrastingly, during a writing workshop, emphasis is placed on the act of writing itself. Children need opportunities to compose on their own or with partners, as well as practice editing and revising skills; additionally, they’ll get to share their written works during an exclusive share-time event.

To ensure children’s independent writing time is productive, they must know what is expected of them. Therefore, creating and posting anchor charts near independent reading and writing areas can be helpful. In addition, it’s also essential to monitor children’s writing stamina and limit it when necessary by watching how they work – when their concentration has wained, or they start becoming distracted, or they need to use the drinking fountain, this could be a signal that it’s time to stop!
